Recital News!

Our annual show offers students an opportunity to show family and friends the results of all their hard work.  Performance opportunities often result in improved self-esteem and confidence that carries over to in-school presentations, social skills and interview skills.  The rehearsal process is just as significant, helping with retention and learning the positive results of working together.

They will not need a ticket to watch the second act, unless you want them to have a seat.  All outstanding balances for the season must be paid in full before tickets can be purchased.

DVDs can be ordered when purchasing tickets or anytime after.  Price is $TBA.  They will be available at the studio within 10 days after the show.

RECITAL T-SHIRTS will be available in mid-May for $20.00. They have the show logo on the front, and all cast members’ names on the back. A wonderful souvenir for performers! Limited availability.

VOLUNTEERS I need one mom per class, except for the advanced classes, to oversee theater and dressing room activities during dress rehearsal and show.  You will be able to see your child's routine when they perform.

DRESS REHEARSAL-MANDATORY!!!. Crucial changes are sometimes made at dress rehearsal, so all performers must be present.  Students will sit in the audience with their class, until it is time for them to come on the stage.  The younger Creative Movement and Ballet Classes will be rehearsed early and be allowed to leave so they can get their beauty rest!  All other classes will be released as we progress through the show.  We will try to run it in order.  Please you’re your costume to dress rehearsal. Costumes are required so we can be sure everyone has the items they need, and for lighting purposes, but hair and makeup are not necessary for the dress rehearsal.

Videotaping and photography are allowed at dress rehearsal, but no flash photography. No food or drink allowed in the theater, but performers can snack in the lobby, or dressing rooms.  One family member is allowed into the dress rehearsal with a performer. If you must bring a younger sibling, please keep them quietly seated.

STUDENT PROCEDURE FOR DRESS REHEARSAL One person must attend Dress Rehearsal with student, except advanced levels.  Your child should come dressed in costume with a cover-up on.  Enter through front of theater and find where your child's specific class is sitting.  Sit with that group until called to the stage.  Please remain quiet and in your seats. We will walk each class through their dressing areas for the show and then onto the stage to rehearse.  Do not leave the theater until your class has been dismissed.

STUDENT PROCEDURE FOR SHOW All performers should arrive 45 minutes before show time, in costumes (covered up) and hair and makeup done, and taken to the drop off table by the dressing rooms and signed in. No parents in the dressing rooms, except volunteer moms.  Performers will remain in dressing room until they perform and then be escorted back to the dressing room after they perform.  At intermission, Ballet show performers may be picked up (but not DURING the show). They may watch the rest of the show. They will be escorted to the orchestra pit at the front of the theater, and will sit on the floor to watch the rest of the show. Jazz and Tap performers will remain backstage until the finale, then we will escort them on stage.  After the finale you can pick your child up in the theater from the stage.

AUDIENCE PROCEDURE FOR SHOW Doors will open 30 minutes ahead of time.  There will be no videotaping or flash photography allowed during the performance. (As mentioned, professional DVD's of the show will be available for purchase.) The show will be under 2 hours.  At intermission, students who are not in the second act may be picked up from the dressing room and brought to a seat in the theater to watch the second act, or we will bring them in to sit on the floor.  Costumes must be covered up!! All students are invited back up on stage at the end of the show for pictures.
