Mission Statement

The Dance Junction is the first step in developing and establishing an integrated performing arts center in the New Hope/Solebury/Lahaska area, and hopes to be a permanent contributor and supporter of the all the artistic and creative events that this unique area has to offer . The Dance Junction believes that art in all forms should be accepted and accessible to everyone, and looks forward to developing positive relationships with all members of the community.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Creative Movement

A class geared to the very special needs of three to five year olds.  Children will explore movement through creative expression and learn classroom structure and focus.  Tap, ballet, jazz and freestyle movement are all introduced in an imaginative way.  45 minutes

 Tap

Rhythm, rhythm, rhythm, is the theme for this fabulous class.  Kids love the sound and music.  Basic tap steps are explored, as we travel across the floor at the speed of light!  45 mnutes

Jazz, Musical Theater, Hip Hop

The beat of today's music sets the tone for this jazz class that also includes Musical Theatre and Hip Hop styles.  All elements are explores from isolations to progressions and combinations, theatrical styles, and the exciting energetic steps of street dancing.

Acrobatics/Gymnastics

Tumbling and floorwork including forward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round offs, handsprings, walkovers, backovers, etc. 

 Pre Ballet

 Students are prepared for more formal ballet training through exercises and acivities that develop coordination and fitness, body awareness, posture, expression, and music appreciation.  The emphasis is on "Structured Fun". 

Graded Ballet Levels 1-4

Students begin to develop the foundation of ballet technique, which involves training the body and developing an entire movement "vocabulary".  Each year builds on the previous for strength, flexibility, control, and artistry!

Pointe

Students are recommended for pointe by the instructor, generally not before age 11, and after several years of study.  Must also be enrolled in a minimum of two Ballet Technique classes. 

Dress Code

Creative Movement and Beg Ballet--black or pink leotards, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair pulled back

All other Ballet classes--black leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in ponytail or bun

Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, Contemporary ---black leotard, or top, with black jazz pants, jazz shoes, tap shoes--hair pulled back

Zumba, Boys Hip Hop--comfortable clothing and sneakers

 

    

Guidelines 

 

 All missed classes should be made-up during the session.  No credits are given.

 

  Registration fees are non-refundable. Payment by cash or check is due at designated dates.

 

In case of inclement weather, call me, I stay open if at all possible!
